Definitely one built to have a chauffeur as evidenced by the add on targa top and the dual cowl.

Grille shroud says “That be a Packard of some sort.”

Mid-30s Super 8 Sedan?

I’ve done a bit of searching - I think it’s a Packard 12. Anyone have any input?

All I can say is that it’s a coach built Packard town car.

Did I just find the very same car online? They call it ‘33 Presidential.

I think you’ve done it - thanks! She saw it in Battery Park City, so you’ve nailed it.

Look in the other comments - KnowsAboutCars found the very car - a 33 Presidential, and it’s for hire.

They even have one in ‘tuxedo.’

I tried to find out what chassis number it is but found nothing. Interestingly packardinfo.com lists no town car bodied Packard Eights made in 1933.

Interesting, it seems that this might actually be a fiberglass reproduction body on (I assume) reproduction frame .

Somewhat disappointing.

That would be a total letdown - sort of a boner going ... EEEE - eh - nope .... The car needs to be real.

Yeah. Sure it makes sense for the company from maintenance and reliability standpoint to own a replica but c’mon don’t try to pass it off as a real Packard. Although I guess most of their customers don’t really care if it’s real or not.
